Report on Sexual Harassment in the UK Security Industry
We are pleased to share the findings of our recent report on sexual harassment in the UK security industry. This research provides a critical look at the challenges faced by security professionals- particularly women - when it comes to experiencing and addressing harassment in the workplace. With nearly 2,200 industry professionals participating, the insights we’ve gathered highlight both the prevalence of harassment and the cultural barriers that continue to hinder progress in creating a safer, more inclusive industry.
This study would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors. A special thank you to The Institute of Strategic Risk Management (ISRM), The International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO UK), and The International Professional Security Association (IPSA) for your belief in this project and for helping to bring this important issue to light.
I’d also like to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who participated in the survey. Your openness and willingness to share your experiences have been invaluable. Together, we’ve taken an essential step towards improving working conditions for all security professionals and fostering a workplace culture rooted in respect and safety.
This report is more than just a collection of data - it’s a call to action. I hope it inspires security organisations across the UK to address the gaps in training, reporting, and support for those affected by harassment, and to make lasting changes to ensure a more inclusive and respectful industry.
Thank you again to all who contributed. We look forward to continuing this conversation and driving meaningful change.
