Our Commitment to the Mayor of London's Women's Night Safety Charter

All women have the right to enjoy London after dark. Sounds obvious, doesn’t it? And yet the four million women and girls living here still face many barriers when taking part in our city’s life at night.

London is a safe city, but too many women feel unsafe when traveling, working, or going out at night. Londoners have asked the Night Czar to prioritise women's safety. That's why the Mayor has created this charter: to make London a city where all women feel confident and welcome at night.

The charter is part of the Mayor’s Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy and London’s commitment to the UN Women Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces global initiative.

FFA has pledged to commit to facilitating a safer nightlife for all. Part of the steps we have taken:

  • We have nominated a champion here at FFA who actively promotes women’s night safety.

  • All of our security team have received training and promote our commitment to women's safety at night.

  • We actively encourage reporting by victims and bystanders.

  • Part of our staff training has highlighted the need to ensure that all women who report are believed and that all reports are recorded and responded to.

  • We work with all of our venues to ensure that policies are followed and clear reporting procedures are in place.
